We stayed here for four nights while touring the region. The location is not far from the center and in a beautiful natural setting. The room was comfortable, clean, and recently refurbished, including the bathroom. The hotel is very quiet, and the garden is stunning. The staff were exceptionally nice, and the pool was great. We also appreciated being able to bring our own food and drink to enjoy on the terrace in the evening.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

This is a very attractive small chateau set in lovely grounds. It is walkable into the town of Cognac. The manager was very pleasant.
Breakfast, as is typical in a lot of French hotels, is not particularly good or interesting at 11 euros per person. No lunch available at all. Dinner is on the expensive side and would not really suit children.

the building is beautiful and the grounds are very pretty. the staff, both on reception and in the restaurant, were incredibly friendly and helpful. the restaurant has a lovely terrace for outside dining. It's a short, flat 15-20 minute walk into town, making it easy to explore. the bed was small but comfortable. the hotel is in a quiet location and has a well-kept swimming pool. Pets are welcome and the grounds are large enough for them to run around. The cleanliness in most areas was good. Cons: Nothing to mention. 😊.

Excellent dinner.
Breakfast disappointing. Certainly not worth 11 Euros. No fruit except raw. No fruit salad or compote etc. Only bread available was a baguette. Nothing to toast. Cheese just cheap slices, no camembert or brie. No real croissants, just miniatures! Cancellation policy not clear - stated can cancel one day in advance, but actually two days! We had to book a new date to avoid the cancellation fee. Room very small.

The hotel was gorgeous and well-furnished. The views of the countryside were also quite nice. We stayed in the standard room which was a bit small, but comfortable and clean. You would definitely need a car to get to the place since it's a bit out of the way but worth it.
You need a car. Would definitely come back, preferably in summer since they have a pool.

I recently had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Cognac. The location is perfect, nestled in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The serene surroundings added to the overall tranquility of the hotel.
All in all, my stay at this hotel was exceptional and there was nothing that I felt needed improvement.

The Madame was very welcoming and spoke good English which was very helpful. Lovely old chateau with great views and a superb pool. On the edge of Cognac so a good walk into the town but very peaceful. Our room smelt a little of fresh paint which may have put some people off.Had a lovely meal in the restaurant with excellent service.

Very warm welcome. Lovely old house that has been well modernised. Good restaurant. Located in a large parkland and close to centre of Cognac.

Received a very warm welcome and good service. Room was pleasant and restaurant was very good. The Domaine itself is charming with a pool and grounds. It is not far from the centre of Cognac (25 min walk). The only slight criticism is that the restaurant and bar were closed on Sunday. Otherwise, a very good visit and shall certainly, stay there again.
The restaurant and bar closed on Sunday.

We were delighted with the very warm reception we received. The hotel gave an exceptional high standard and we felt very comfortable and at home. Dining on the terrace was an unexpected treat and every member of staff went out of their way to help us to relax and we hope to return to Domaine du Breuil when we are able. Plus all this, parking was plentiful and so made loading the car easy, the grounds were a delight to walk in and the views memorable. Cognac we enjoyed in lovely sunshine, thank you to everyone at the hotel. Mary and Peter Robins.

Convenient location and friendly staff. The hotel is located close to some interesting landmarks and the staff is very accommodating. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Outdated and in dire need of repairs. The hotel is in need of a significant renovation to improve its amenities.

We stayed 3 nights and were delighted with everything abut the hotel. We will definitely use it again. Monsieur and Madame were charming and the accommodation superb. We did not eat dinner because we were visiting family nearby but next time we shall definitely book in.

Basil and Sybil are alive and well and running a hotel in Cognac......!!!!! Fawlty Towers had nothing on this place. In a 3 week trip around France this was, unfortunately, the only hotel that did not come up to scratch. Beautiful from the outside, the inside is in desperate need of renovation and modernisation. At least the bathrooms could do with a good clean. On arrival we were told that we had been "upgraded" free of charge to a superior room from our booked double. I would love to have seen the room we should have got, if this was "superior"! A bed that was no bigger than a slightly oversized single, broken toilet seat, mould in the bathroom, no hot water past 9pm and a room so small you banged your knees on everything. Disappointing.
